Intro

Welcome to the blog. Like most other blogs this is a place for me to organize and flesh out my thoughts. During grad school I found that I really enjoyed elaborating my thoughts via pen and paper.

What you the reader can expect are essays that span from the development and refinement of the “Holistic Performance Model” and discussion of philosophy around strength and wellness for the average consumer and the strength & conditioning/fitness professional. These essays will take a deep dive into my psyche and will be as real and raw as possible in order to juxtapose the glitz and glamour of social media. To begin I will be writing a series of essays based on Jocko Willink’s best selling book Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Fight and Win. These essays will be practical applications of the principles laid out in his book. The essays will mainly be written for the strength & conditioning/fitness professional. However the average lifter can absolutely gain much knowledge for their own personal life and lifting career.

Finally I plan on ending each essay with a song recommendation. As most people that know me, know I am a bit of an audiophile. The song may or may not be relevant to the topic at hand, but you the reader can expect at least a blurb as to why I made the recommendation. To begin I present Come Alive by Foo Fighters. No this will not just be Foo Fighters recommendations, I do find this song rather appropriate as I breathe life into this endeavor and fits nicely into my music choices long swelling musical pieces with major headbanging crescendos E.g. Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin.
